Abstract:
Save or Extract of Badly Decayed Tooth

Tooth extraction of defected tooth and placement of a titanium implant is not always the solution when a tooth is compromised by periodontal, pulpal, traumatic, or carious pathology. This a decision-making process that can assist clinicians in making the best decision to save or extract a tooth, based upon current available data. Understanding when to attempt to save and maintain a tooth and when extraction is indicated is an essential part of our clinical practice. There is a decision-making chart done by evidence based researches, this should be interpreted level by level to reach the correct decision for each case as an exception. Dental practice should be based on current clinical concepts emanating from science-based dentistry.
