Rehabilitation of resorbed maxilla: treatment outcomes and clinical protocols.

Abstract:

The rehabilitation of esthetics and function in the edentulous maxilla is not always an easy task, especially when the maxilla has undergone extensive resorption or when the sinuses has presented exaggerated pneumatization. Various clinical treatments had been advocated for these cases that stretch from conventional dentures til the implant-borne fixed prosthesis.

An overview of these treatments’ options will be presented with the factors that may affect the choice between one treatment and another.
